Compact and incredibly flexible in terms of connectivity, the GA500 is designed to work on virtually any application and can drive all types of motors from 0.2 to 30 kW.

Key features and benefits included: integrated EMC filters, integrated dual-channel security (STO SIL3/PLe), an optional fieldbus board to connect up to 5 sub-invertersnetwork, the ability to meet all global standards while meeting security standards, as well as simple configuration and monitoring, with applications for all mobile devices. There are also other features such as the robust design allowing the drives to operate up to 4000 m altitude and in hot environments up to 60ºC. In addition, tropicalized circuit boards protect against dust and moisture, while integrated temperature-controlled start-up fans only work when needed, so that any risk of contamination is minimized and the intervals between maintenance cycles can be extended.

The GA500’s bright LED display and touchscreen keyboard ensure easy and intuitive navigation, while the common menus and settings are organized and named as in all other YASKAWA dimmers, greatly reducing the need for further training.

In addition, the built-in programming environment for customizing the functions of the dimmer offers scalability and the ability to remove external controllers. The USB port allows easy connection to a PC or mobile device for programming, monitoring or troubleshooting, while the power terminals are easy to access and ensure a quick and convenient connection of the mains and motor cables without having to remove any protection on the inverter. Spring-loaded control terminals also allow reliable and durable connections without the need for resetting campaigns.

The internal 24 V DC power supply provides an additional 150 mA for use with external sensors, eliminating the addition of an external power supply. In addition, because the dimmer has an optimal normal load rate, this allows users to operate a larger engine in variable torque applications.
