Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today launched the 2020 Innovation Summit World Tour. This series of virtual events, which starts today and runs until November 26, is an opportunity for market leaders, experts, change makers, partners and customers from around the world to discover new digital solutions for a more resilient and sustainable future.

Schneider Electric’s annual event for nearly 5 years, the Innovation Summit World Tour 2020 is the first online-only edition. It will be followed by 10 regional – and interactive – events over the next eight weeks. These events will allow participants from around the world to learn more about the strategic role of electrification, digitization, innovation, energy management and industrial automation in the transition to a lower carbon footprint world, with the goal of limiting climate change to 1.5°C.

During his virtual plenary session, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric, strongly encouraged its audience to accelerate its digital transformation in order to better cope with the upheavals caused by the climate crisis and the pandemic that swept the planet in 2020.

“Around the world, in just a few months, our lives have changed – and digitalization has helped us adapt to the new normal. Remote digital activities ensure business continuity, increase resilience and access to information to better anticipate and adapt with agility. Digital innovation and connectivity have changed our ways of living and working together. It can change our environmental impact in the right direction and promote economic recovery and sustainable development for all.” said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric.

Throughout these events, Schneider Electric will unveil new offerings for its customers and partners, including :

  • A new line of low-voltage electrical cabinets, PrismaSeT™ Active, and a new generation of circuit breakers, ComPacT™. Available in 2021, these innovations provide crucial information on the risk of electric fire and the availability of electricity in building systems. Thanks to the cloud connectivity of PrismaSeT Active cabinets, users can continuously monitor the power distribution and receive notifications in the event of dangerous power loss. The new generation of ComPacT circuit breakers takes power availability to the next level with significant ergonomic enhancements, as well as plug-and-play plug-and-play plug-and-play accessories ready to connect to extend advanced monitoring capabilities.
  • An innovative eco-responsible electrical panel: the SM AirSeT. Combining air and vacuum cut-off switch technology, this new switchboard aims to eliminate the use of SF6, a greenhouse gas present in electrical equipment used to power industrial electrical systems and installations. This new technology limits the emission of millions of tonnes of CO2 into energy networks. Its extensive IoT connectivity also makes it possible to apply the benefits of data and analytics to network management and optimization.
  • A new class of automation, EcoStruxure Automation Expert, the first software-based industrial automation system that dramatically improves the entire operational life cycle.

The 2020 Innovation Summit will feature high-level discussions between Schneider Electric’s leadership team and AECOM, an infrastructure consulting firm, GlaxoSmithKline, an international healthcare company, RIB Software, a pioneer in the construction industry, and AVEVA, a world leader in engineering and industrial software.

Interactive round tables are also organized with representatives of JP Morgan Chase & Co, financial services company, McDonalds, restaurant service provider, Danone, international food group, JLL, real estate and investment company, Acciona, supplier of infrastructure and renewable energy projects, Enedis, operator of the French electricity grid, Suez, provider of environmental services, and Arup, global consulting company in design, engineering and architecture.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit a virtual Innovation Hub where they will discover in 3D the innovations of Schneider Electric and its technology partners. They will also be able to connect live to Schneider Electric’s laboratories, showrooms and manufacturing sites around the world, to discuss with experts and attend hands-on demonstrations.

In addition to the global launch on 8 October, regional Innovation Summit events and additional content for selected regions are planned for October and November :
