This collaboration was initiated by Marin and Victor. These two friends, adventurers at heart, spoke of their frustration of carrying heavy and bulky bottles of wine, forgetting corkscrews during picnics and hikes, and problems of recycling bottles after consumption. They launched the adventure of the start-up Le Petit Baroudeur: a sustainable alternative in the way that wine is consumed.

The Bio’teille, more practical and sustainable than glass bottles, was born. FPC Packaging has redesigned the format of a wine bottle by supplying a single-material plastic pouch, spout and cap which is combined with a shell of moulded fibre made from 100% recycled products.
The advantages of this container compared to the traditional glass bottle:

• 3 times less energy consumption
• 8 times lighter (only 53g)
• absorbs shocks and thus avoids overpack
• keeps the chilled temperature 30% longer

In order to fill these Bioteilles to officially launch the first sales, Karlville has found itself to be the ideal partner with its SpoutPro FC Pilot machine. This has been perfectly adapted to the particularity of setting up a liquid nitrogen injection system to eliminate oxygen in the head space and thus guarantee a better conservation of the wine.
This compact machine can be easily moved and set up in wine cellars for direct filling out of the tank. This avoids moving the wines to a filling site.

Once the project was set up, the marketing of the Petit Baroudeur’s products began. The start-up, accompanied by its two partners FPC Packaging and Karlville, decided to present itself at the CFIA Rennes 2022 Innovation Awards in the Packaging category. Following his nomination, this new concept received the winning award on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
