Solution Singular Control Yaskawa
Packaging demonstration machine managed by the YASKAWA Singular Control solution via the MP3300iec axis controller

Centralize the management of packaging machines with the Singular Control solution

The new YASKAWA solution from Motion Control called “Singular Control” makes it possible to manage all the traditional components and actuators found in a packaging machine for setting it in motion: servomotors, drives, industrial robots, inputs / outputs, HMI , etc. This thanks to a single controller programmed in a single software environment.

The heart of the solution is the MP3300iec controller, where all the programming of the application is simplified because it is carried out in MotionWorks IEC software using different programming languages conforming to standard IEC 61131-3, with structured text, functional diagrams. sequential (SFC), ready-to-use PLCopen function blocks (CAM editor, cutting on the fly, delta robot, PackML), Ladder logic, and includes the integration of vision and conveyor tracking. The YASKAWA controller is therefore particularly suitable for automation in the food industry because it is thus able to manage all the components found in a packaging machine up to 62 axes.

In other words, the advantage of the Singular Control solution is that whatever the mechanism, the function blocks used for programming the movement are the same. This allows robotics to be implemented with standard motion control without the need for a programming box or even a standard robotic programming language. Thus, if a machine includes standard motion axes, robotic equipment or special mechanisms, the entire system can be programmed in a single software environment thanks to the unique YASKAWA MP3300iec controller. It is even possible to upgrade your machines with new mechanisms, to add flexibility or cadence, without having to modify the application program or introduce new controllers in the system.

Ever simpler, flexible and secure robotic solutions for the food industry

YASKAWA will also present its new industrial robot MotoMINI, the smallest of its range, ultra compact, fast and efficient. This new model combines very fast cycle speeds with very good repeatability of 0.03 mm precision, a range of action of 350 mm and a payload of 500 g. This makes the MotoMINI ideal for handling or assembling small loads and products in production machines. Indeed, thanks to its compact design, it ensures a very small footprint. This robot can move components in three directions and around 3 axes of rotation, and this in the most confined spaces. This freedom of movement thus facilitates complex handling operations and reduces the space requirements of a production plant, while increasing productivity. With a weight of only 7 kg, this industrial robot is so small that depending on the operational conditions or the part to be treated, it can be used in a flexible and application-specific way. Its installation on linear axes or on other means of extension of the workstation also widens the field of application of the MotoMINI robot.

Also to be discovered and tested at the show, the MOTOMAN HC10 robot which is a 6-axis robot with a working range of 1200 mm in radius and a payload of 10 kg which can be used as a standard industrial robot or a collaborative robot. In addition to the safety aspects, from the start of the HC10 design process, great attention was paid to user friendliness. The MOTOMAN HC10 provides the required security in the event of direct contact with an agrifood production operator thanks to a force and torque control technology multiplied by six and redundant in each of the axes, which allows a flexible interaction between the robot and its environment . Thus, depending on the risk assessment of the robotic application, the MOTOMAN HC10 can operate without any additional protective measures. This saves space in factories and of course also reduces the inherent costs.

These two robot models can be controlled by the new “Smart Pendant” portable programming box, touch pad type. The lightest in its class with only 730 g, this case is ergonomic and clearly structured. The touch screen allows intuitive operation and therefore smooth navigation in the menus. The 3D simulation on the screen of the portable programming box shows the movement of the robot arm in real time and the limits not to be exceeded for safe operation. Its ease of use and its availability on the rest of the YASKAWA MOTOMAN range of robots makes it an ideal box for use in "Industry 4.0" environments.
