The new PM-TL100 top load case packer is the ideal solution for automating case packing, particularly suited to open cases such as single, side-gusseted or gusseted cases and ready-to-sell cases.

Thanks to its great versatility, the PM-TL100 top load case packer is suitable for a wide variety of products, whether rigid or flexible: bags, flowpacks, trays, pots, cases and many others. The combination of robots designed and developed by MG Tech and suction cup or gripper handling provides perfect control and precise positioning in the boxes, particularly for flat storage.

‘We designed and developed this new PM-TL100 top load case packer to be simple and easy to commission and use, while faithfully replicating manual case packing: product conveying, on-the-fly detection and robotic loading,’ explains Serge Pitois, Product Manager. The PM-TL100 top load case packer is natively designed to be multi-format, with quick format changeover and no adjustment required thanks to robotic tracking and the vision system (optional). Finally, it covers a wide range of speeds, from the lowest production rates to over 40 cases per minute."

Its modular stainless steel design, with minimal mechanical parts and equipment located in the upper section, ensures excellent cleanability and simplified maintenance, real advantages in meeting the demands of the food industry (fresh dairy products, meat, cured meats, savoury snacks, ready meals, etc.), cosmetics and pet food (animal feed).

The PM-TL100 MG Tech top load case packer combines performance, reliability, simplicity and scalability to support the long-term growth of industrial production lines.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW PM-TL100 MG TECH TOP LOAD CASE PACKER
#1 – A multi-format machine suitable for a wide range of boxes and products

The PM-TL100 top load case packer is particularly suitable for open cases (single cases, with side walls or dihedrals) but also for ready-to-sell cartons with large windows and/or double walls (flanging). In fact, for perfect results with this type of packaging, an independent MG Tech case former upstream of the packing machine is more suitable as it ensures perfect case geometry during volume adjustment, thus guaranteeing perfect production control.
The PM-TL100 top load case packer is capable of handling a wide variety of products, whether rigid (thermoformed trays) or more flexible (bags). Products are gripped for transfer into the cases using suction cups or grippers, for which MG Tech has perfect mastery of the gripping techniques. The use of our own robots gives us complete control over the behaviour of products during handling.

#2 – A simple and easy-to-use case packer

The packing process used in the PM-TL100 packing machine is extremely simple. It faithfully reproduces manual packing, with the box being expanded upstream and then loaded with products using the gripper. The packing function performed by our packing machine is therefore very simple:

  • The products are transported on a simple conveyor belt with detection for on-the-fly gripping.
  • Crating is performed by one of the robots in our range. The simple design of the PM-TL100 crater allows for the management of multiple crates and products. A vision system (optional module) detects the arrival of products for tracking gripping without any need for format changes. The robot then adapts to the production format and the desired type of storage. In addition, the format of the boxes can be changed either manually or automatically using the side guides.

The modular design and the use of simple, perfectly controlled functions make the PM-TL100 top load case packer a highly competitive solution for many automated case packing projects.

#3 – Equipment designed to be cleaned

The PM-TL100 top load case packer is designed to be easy to clean. Its simple design with few mechanical parts is its greatest asset. Its construction, with all functions located in the upper part (vision, robot, vacuum generator, etc.), ensures a clear area below the product and case conveyor systems. All electrical wiring is also located in the upper part of the machine to prevent dirt from accumulating.
Its stainless steel construction allows the product and crate circulation areas to be cleaned with water.
In addition, its large, full-height transparent doors provide complete visibility inside the machine and facilitate cleaning of the various areas.

#4 – Compact design for seamless integration into the packaging line

The PM-TL100 top load case packer is a space-saving solution. It can therefore be easily integrated into existing end-of-line packaging lines. Separating the box forming process from the packing process allows for a much smaller machine (2.7 x 1.5 x 2.5 m) and enables boxes to be accumulated between the two functions, which generally improves performance.
